If you like what I do and enjoy reading the blog there are a few ways you can help out.

Free ways:

  • Like “Things I Find in the Garbage” on Facebook and share posts with your friends
  • Come to one of my garage sales and say hi!
  • Drop me a line by email (thingsifindinthegarbage@gmail.com) or by commenting on blog posts
  • Give me some tips: Send me an email if you think you know where I might find some good garbage
  • Whatever else you might think of!

Financial ways:

  • Buy something I find. I have many items listed on eBay and in my Etsy store. You can also inquire via email regarding things I have mentioned on the blog – they may or may not be still around
  • Make a secure contribution via PayPal – Every dollar helps!

I don’t make any money from blogging. You’ll notice that there are no ads, and I don’t do sponsored posts. If anything I lose money from having to pay hosting fees to WordPress. Contributing to the blog helps me pay the bills (including a still massive student loan debt) and rewards me for the thousands of hours I’ve spent producing original content. Thank you in advance if you choose this option!

  1. I support your blog by asking major media outlets in the US and Toronto to do a feature story on you and give you,your blog and your mission more publicity.I want to encourage other people to scavenge in different neighborhoods in Montreal and in other cities in North America.

  2. I think your blog is great. But more than your blog, I appreciate your energy and initiative. For 15 years, I have bicycled the streets of Montreal and probably 1/3 of my home is furnished with finds from my rides. Keep posting and showing how many of us are treausre hunters in this funky city.

  3. I really love your blog. I live in Buenos Aires (federal district) in Argentina, and I usually like to pick up things who some people consider (erroneously) garbage! If I don’t have space to put that things in my house so many times I give them away to people I know is going to use them.

    1. I wish I would have “just happened ” on your blog a few years ago…but I have to say the print titled L’indiscret looks like something i would DEFINITELY hang up. And then the kids….thats sooo ugly ! Etc. But that’s ok…

    1. Not sure yet. I don’t usually announce them here and don’t have a mailing list yet, so the best way to find out is to keep an eye on my Instagram, in particular the “stories.” I’ll usually share the relevant details there a day or two before a sale.

      I might have a yard sale this Sunday, but I’m not sure yet. It’s supposed to be really hot, maybe too hot.
